The Golden Triangle India

On my 2023 four month winter travels, mostly solo, India was a destination that had been pulling at me for years with its multicultural ethnic backgrounds, spirituality and faith systems, its seat of multiple religions, its renowned poverty and its incredible history.

The second visit in my travels to India took me around The Golden Temple, the Taj Mahal, Shimla, Jaipur and Delhi. Always my happiest times were in the back streets and the poorer areas, where ego rarely presented itself and simple joy and laughter featured high in the struggle of life.

Avoiding the tourist traps I always wanted to go off-grid and be guided by random or intuitive opportunities to meet people. My greatest off-grid experience led me to spend a couple of days visiting a leprosy ashram and finding an abundance of joy behind its closed walls and rejection from society.

India 2023. Sunshine, spirituality, sandy beaches, and a welcome escape from the UK winter. Yoga, meditation, gorgeous people, scooters and sacred cows. Time to slow down, embrace a very different lifestyle, soak up the welcome and share my journey in pictures and writing with friends back home.

The “Chalet”

A beautiful, small wooden house sitting on a beachhead in the dunes of Northumberland, this is where I have lived for over thirty years since retiring from the Royal Air Force.

Its a place of nature, peace, silence, star gazing, sun worshipping, awesome full moons, sunsets, beach walks, parties, music, dance, food, chat, and lots of healthy feel-good stuff.
